Avoid the high cost of photography and still own your photos without losing any of the quality. Janice's unique vision for composition, along with her ability to capture subtleties help to create more than just a photograph, but rather a memory.
Before every senior or family shoot, I will consult with you to get a better understanding of the person's likes and dislikes, and then work to find the best location or theme that help make that moment in time uniquely expressive to the individual(s). Though studio photography has its merit, I have found that outdoor themes and locations of interest create a more relaxing atmosphere and better opportunities to enhance the event. However, if studio photographs are required, I can accommodate for a nominal charge.
Once the photo session concludes, I do the editing and processing in preparation for prints: a little tweaking, a little magic and the end result is a series of pictures that hopefully you feel best capture the memory.
Both the senior picture package and the family picture package include the initial consultation, as well as, a small selection of 8x10, 5x7 and 4x6 prints that I have chosen as my favorites.
The wedding package offers some similar features but is catered specifically to the client's event. It begins with an additional hour of photo (with added time available if needed), as well as, a greater variety of photographs in your finished package.
With weddings, the initial consult between the photographer and the client is best done in person. While not offering input or interference on your wedding location or theme,
I work hard to accommodate your photographic requirements with unique, creative twists. I do limited these services, however, to smaller, less formal wedding venues (usually less than 100 guests). Its her way of providing the customer with high quality photography of their wedding ceremony to be cherished for years to come without breaking the bank.
Its important to remember that your package always includes a USB thumb drive that is complete with all of the pictures that were taken at the photo shoot and edited for the client. All pictures are represented on this media in high resolution and not in the thumbnail-size renderings that often are given by higher-priced studios. It is our belief that since you paid for the services, why shouldn't you own the product? This provides the client (individual / family) a choice from all of the photographs taken the option to print or electronically share their favorites without the added costs that photography studios normally charge for the privilege.
Please keep in mind that Janice Christman Photography reserves the right to refuse photographic services and limits their wedding photography offerings to smaller, more intimate wedding settings.

About Me
Beginning as a personal adventure after retiring from a stressful business career, I took up an old hobby to relax and unwind with. Majoring in photography in college, I never thought my passion for capturing images would ever be utilized let alone blossom to the degree that it has and it wasn't until I had time on my hands that I could hone the skills that I had learned so many years ago.
Photography for me is more than just taking a picture with a camera. It is an expression of the subject matter that is frozen in time. The delicacies of a bloom, the shadows cast in fog, the expressions on one's face, are just as important as the image itself, and often times, more so.
As we all do, I often overlook or take for granted these intricacies of life that surround us. However, I have found that with a camera the beauty of life is more intense in that I can see more of it than with the naked eye alone. Even in times of dire stress, there is something wonderfully magnificent happening.
My love for photography in my retirement has heightened my visual senses. If you ask those that know me, they'll tell you that my passion may have gotten the better of me. I see, I do and I talk about life with a different attitude. This change in me has metamorphosed into confidence. I am more comfortable discussing the world we live in with greater imagery and more excited about life's most unnoticed details because of it. There is more than what is just at the surface and if you dig just a little bit deeper you'll often find hidden visual treasures as I have.
It seems that I always have my camera with me these days and when I don't, I always wish I had my camera with me. But, photography has not become so much an obsession of mine but more, an infatuation with seeing more of this detail I just referred to. Often times my husband will get frustrated with me because I see something that catches my eye when we are driving on a trip and I am compelled in having him stop so that I can capture whatever my mind saw. Yes, he indulges me, none-the-less. Likewise, we'll take trips together not for the enjoyment of the trip or for him to relax but specifically for me to take pictures. He has given into my passion in support because he knows that there is so much that I wish to photograph now that I have the time to dedicate to this art. And, my grand-kids... well they know me best as the "grandma with the camera in her face."
Thankfully, they all embolden me which gives me the courage and freedom to continue and I am blessed that they do so graciously.
With this encouragement from these friends, family members and even a few who have commissioned me after learning about my passion and seeing my work, I realized that I have an eye for emphasizing the beauty of our surroundings that often elude us as we meander our way though life. It began with photographing flowers, landscapes, animals and textures. Then, once I gained a little confidence I began to challenge myself to take pictures of people to enhance the vision that is in my mind's eye.
What you see in my prints is not a lot of Photoshop. I'd rather play with settings and backdrops, just as we were taught when photographing with film. I think this radically changes the outcome that eventually gets printed. Still, honing my skills as I transitioned from film-based photography to the digital world, I've found that what beauty comes from the subject can quickly be complemented with just a little tweaking in the right areas.
My library has quickly grown to 20,000+ photos and is growing steadily. Thank goodness for digital...
